In Guangzhou, there are nearly 250,200 people with various disabilities due to innate, acquired diseases or accidents and so on, which amount almost 3.8% of Guangzhou total population. Their independent living and social activities have been effected and restricted, and they have to face enormous difficulties in living, study and work.. Among them there are group of people which demands special attention and care from the whole society.

　　Since the establishment of Guangzhou Welfare Foundation for People with Disabilities, it received strong support from municipal government, governmental institutions, enterprises, warm-hearted individuals, oversees Chinese, etc., and there are many activities of fundraising and sales of works been organized and carried out.

　　The fund raised by foundation, has contributed greatly to the welfare of people with disabilities in Guangzhou mainly in following aspects:
　　1. Funding establishment of Guangzhou Rehabilitation Center for People with Disabilities, Guangzhou Vocational Training Center for People with Disabilities,
　　2. Support the establishment of the first Library for the Blind,
　　3. Investing fund in special education for people with disabilities.
　　4. Help people and families in great economical difficulties due to natural disasters.
　　5. Provide capital in cataract replacement operation for some vision impaired in poor economical conditions.
　　6. Sending condolatory allowance to families in economical difficulties before traditional festivals.
　　7. Providing financial support to sports activities for people with disabilities.

　　Along with the development of economy and improved living quality, there is increased need to improve the welfare of people with disabilities, to solve difficulties they are facing. We hope that the whole society, warmhearted individual with various background, to continuously care and support our cause, to contribute and donate within ability.
